The 2021 Annual Conference was held in September 2021 in Recife, Brazil, but could also be joined online.

Together with the Instituto Ricardo Brennand in Recife as our host, ICOM Brasil and Federal University of Pernambuco, the conference offered a diverse and inspiring program around the topic Reimagine Collecting: How Collecting Can Inspire The Future.

During the conference we looked into the future of collecting and how collections can be an inspiration for imagined futures. This way we connected the program to the 2021 International Museum Day theme  “The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine”.
